STAFF ATTORNEY – Las Vegas and Reno Offices
ABOUT US:
Nevada Disability Advocacy & Law Center (NDALC) is a private, statewide, non-profit organization serving as Nevada’s designated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) agency. NDALC is part of a nationwide network of P&A agencies that advocate, empower, and protect individuals with disabilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Active Nevada State Bar license, in good standing.
A commitment to enforcing and expanding the rights of people with disabilities across Nevada through individual and systemic advocacy.
Ability to work occasional weekends or after hours.
Ability to communicate effectively; both orally and in writing, with or without reasonable accommodation(s).
Ability to conduct research and analysis complex problems and develop creative solutions.
Ability to work both independently and with NDALC project teams with appropriate supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, monitor and ensure compliance with policies/procedures related to client services and case handling.
Participate actively in weekly case review and grant specific team meetings.
Maintain, organize and update client files with updated client and project notes.
Provide direct client representation in negotiations, mediations, judicial and administrative proceedings.
Represent NDALC on boards, Commissions and Committees as directed by the Executive Director.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervising Rights Attorney or the Executive Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS or REQUIREMENTS:
Active Nevada State Bar license, in good standing.
Successfully complete state/federal background check(s) and any additional security level requirements required under our individual grantor programs
Demonstrated ability to work with and/or have sensitivity to people with disabilities
